The return of fireflies following our endurance race through weeks of rain

welcome fluttering fire lights

brightened by oversight of the moon’s brilliance

elusive flashes of sparkling wonder

location of next cluster, unpredictable

set against the black parade of massive ENTS hovering in the darkness
